Park Operating Rules/Procedures

Welcome to the Ridgefield Star Park at Onalfo Field

This facility is is used as both the Onalfo soccer field and the Ridgefield Star Park. Many of these rules arise from this sharing.

Star Park Rules of Operation

Regular Star Park hours start at sunset and end at midnight.

Usage outside these hours requires a special permit from the Parks and Recreation Department.

The Star Park is open year-round except when the Park and Recreation Department judges that access may be dangerous to users or may have the potential to damage the field surface due to ground saturation. During such periods, the large access gate at the North East corner will be closed.

Pet walking on this field is prohibited at all times. Use the Bark Park.

Strict litter control is essential both for safety as well as for the sake of cleanliness. Use the litter basket near the flood lamp post.

A flood lamp activator may be obtained at the Parks and Recreation Department. The lamp should be used for set-up and break-down of equipment during the first and last 30 minutes of Star Park hours of operation. An exception for emergency use is permitted.

Loud music or noises are prohibited out of respect for nearby neighbors.

Please maintain the smooth field surface for soccer players: avoid digging and replace any displaced soil.

Enjoy the Magnificent Sky!
